God
On the basis of the Holy Scriptures we believe the magnificent concept of the Holy Trinity; that is, the one true God, (Deuteronomy 6:4; 1st Corinthians 8:4) is the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit; three distinct persons, but of One and the same Divine essence, equal in power, equal in eternity, equal in majesty, because each Person possesses the One Divine essence entirely. (Colossians 2:9; Matthew 28:19) The Triune God is the God who is gracious to man, (John 3:16-18; 1st Corinthians 12:3). Since the fall in the garden, no man can believe in the “fatherhood” of God except we also believe in the eternal Son of God, who became man and reconciled us to God by His atonement. (1st John 2:23; John 14:6)
Faith in Jesus Christ
(2nd Corinthians 5:18, 19; Romans 1:5) Therefore, faith in Jesus Christ is the only way for man to obtain personal reconciliation with God; that is, forgiveness of sins, as both the Old and the New Testament Scriptures testify. (Acts 10:43; John 3:16-18, 36) By this faith in Jesus Christ, through which man obtains the forgiveness of sins, is not meant that any human effort to fulfill the Law of God after the example of Christ, but faith in the Gospel; that is, in the forgiveness of sins, or justification, which was fully earned for us by Jesus Christ and is offered by the Gospel. This faith justifies, not inasmuch as it is a work of man, but inasmuch as it lays hold of the grace offered, the forgiveness of sins. (Romans 4:16)
The Holy Spirit
We believe the indwelling Holy Spirit works towards the regeneration, sanctification, and preservation of the Christian. His ministry is to glorify Jesus Christ and empower the believer for godly living and service. (Romans 8:2-6; John 14:26) The Holy Spirit, through the proclamation of the Gospel, renews our hearts, persuading us to repent of our sins and confess Jesus Christ as Lord. By the same Spirit we are led to trust in Divine mercy, whereby we are forgiven all our sins; justified by faith alone through the merit of Jesus Christ, our Savior alone, and granted the free gift of eternal life. (John 14:15-17)
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is the perfect and infallible word of God. (2nd Timothy 3:16-17) The Bible is the Word of God because of the holy men who wrote the scriptures, wrote only what the Holy Spirit communicated to them by inspiration. (2nd Peter 1:21) Since the Holy Scriptures are the Word of God, it goes without saying that they contain no error or contradictions, but that they are in all their parts and words, the infallible truth, also in those parts which speak of historical, geographical, and other secular matters. (John 10:35) Furthermore, the Holy Scriptures were given by God to the Christian Church for the foundation of faith. (Ephesians 2:20)
